Terms of Use
Effective date: June 19, 2026 · Applies to: openlawsvpn client (iOS)
Short version: The openlawsvpn iOS app is a $49/month subscription with a 7-day free trial. Payment is handled by Apple. You can cancel at any time from your App Store subscription settings. The app is provided as-is for connecting to your own AWS Client VPN endpoint.
1. Acceptance
By downloading or using the openlawsvpn iOS app ("the App") you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Subscription
Access to the App requires an active subscription, offered as follows:
- Price: $49.00 USD per month (price may vary by country based on App Store pricing).
- Free trial: New subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. No charge is made during the trial period.
- Auto-renewal: Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period, the subscription automatically renews at the same price for another monthly period. Your Apple ID account is charged at confirmation of purchase and at the start of each renewal period.
- Cancellation: You may cancel at any time via Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you retain access until then.
- Refunds: Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their App Store Terms of Service. We do not issue refunds directly.
3. Licence
Subject to an active subscription, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
The App relies on the open-source go-openlawsvpn engine (LGPL-2.1 with usage exception). See the About screen in the App for licence details.
4. Permitted use
The App is designed to connect to your own organisation's AWS Client VPN endpoint. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the App and the VPN service it connects to complies with all applicable laws and the terms of your AWS agreement.
You may not use the App to circumvent legal restrictions, engage in illegal activity, or access services you are not authorised to access.
5. No warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device configuration. Your use is at your own risk.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, openlawsvpn and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including loss of data or inability to connect to your VPN endpoint.
7. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what data the App does and does not collect.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
